 Remembering President Harry S. Truman with Melvin Borowka, Attorney and Historian

Wednesday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m.
Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, had a 22% approval rating in 1952, the year he left office. We will examine three significant decisions made by President Truman: The use of the atomic bomb at the end of WWII; the firing of one of America’s greatest military leaders, General Douglas MacArthur; and the recognition of Israel as an independent nation. How is President Truman regarded by history today, sixty four years later?

Paul Chamlin and Long Beach native Rochelle Breyer Chamlin present their cabaret show “Life Is...”  a tuneful, irreverent, and ultimately uplifting journey through life’s ups and downs, featuring such favorites as “The Best Things in Life are Free,” “Easy Living,” “That’s Life,” “Being Alive”, “Here’s to Life,” and the Beatles’ “In My Life. Their shows feature an eclectic mix of American Songbook standards, musical theater, traditional tunes, folk, pop, and even operetta. The couple appear frequently in New York cabaret rooms and other venues throughout the metropolitan area and beyond.
