Library Reopening Information

Please note that during this first stage of our reopening, public access will be restricted past a certain point of the library and masks and physical distancing must be observed as required by New York State. Your safety is our number one concern!

Great news, Long Beach…items from select Nassau libraries are now available for you to request and borrow! So, if you haven’t been able to find the book or movie you’ve been looking for, we can request it from other libraries that might have it. Please note, not all Nassau libraries are opening their collections yet. Delivery windows are longer than usual due to quarantining measures and other safety precautions.

There are three easy ways to place your Library Takeout order:

  1. Call us at 516-432-7201 ext. 228
  2. Fill out the online form
  3. Place holds through your online account using your library card number and pin.

No matter which method you choose to order, a Library staff member will call you back to schedule an appointment for lobby or curbside pickup when your items are ready (you will not receive an email notification that your hold is ready). This is for the continued safety of everyone in our community.

We’re doing our best to package all your orders together so you can have one pickup time, but this may not always be possible given the range of arrival days and times from other libraries.

Thank you so much for all your support and patience with this new service. We ask for your continued patience as we fine-tune the library takeout process and get ready for the next steps to safely reopen!
