LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES

The Little Free Library book exchange boxes on the boardwalk are getting a fresh new look! We took them down temporarily to be refurbished, or replaced if necessary. They will be returned to the boardwalk in time for summer reading.

A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange which does not require the use of a library card. Anyone may “borrow” a book left in a Little Free Library or donate one (or more) of their own. Although often distinguishable by its birdhouse shaped exterior, little free libraries come in all shapes and sizes. Our Little Free Libraries were painted by librarian Tanya Suárez-Matos and other members of the Youth Services staff.

The Little Free Libraries are stocked with donated books and books weeded from the Library’s shelves to make space for new items! You can also put your gently used books in the Little Free Libraries.
