What are databases?
Databases are organized collections of information available to users online via a subscription purchased by a local library/libraries. Databases provide the user with authoritative and reliable sources on a wide range of subjects in a number of useful formats including full-text newspaper, magazine, and encyclopedia articles as well as primary sources, images, abstracts, and indexes.
All Long Beach Public Library databases, with the exception of Ancestry.com Library Edition and Alldata, may be accessed from home using a valid Long Beach Public Library card. Use your 14 digit barcode (no spaces), located on your library card, to access these databases from home.
To search all of Long Beach Library’s databases alphabetically or by subject use the toolbar located to the right of this screen.
