 The Long Beach School District presents: Take Four Live in Concert

Saturday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m.
  Take Four is a jazz combo that you won’t want to miss! From iconic artists like Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis to more modern artists like Herbie Hancock and John Coltrane, Take Four strives to stimulate the mind with fresh improvisation. You will hear one of the highest levels of musical performance come to life and unleash the true art form of swing and funk while capturing the styles of all of the pieces. Liam Thornton, saxophone; Quincy Roman, piano; Logan Friedman, bass; Vinny Pagano, drums.

  The Avanti Society presents the film: Il Volo: Notte Magic

Saturday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m.
 Il Volo performed some of the most famous Neapolitan songs and arias from the Italian and international operatic repertoire all of which were sung by the original Three Tenors. As a special guest, Maestro Placid Domingo conducted almost half of the program and joined Il Volo singing the classic Non ti scorer di me. Although Il Volo were not yet born when The Three Tenors first performed, they grew up listening to them, being fascinated and inspired by their voices and legendary achievements. Now, Il Volo deliver this music to a new audience so they can experience the same emotions from that long ago magical night.

 Filigree: Flute Music from Around the World with Barbara Siese

Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m.
  The flute has played an important role in so many cultures. Flutist, Barbara Siesel, offers a pallet of music from China, Ireland, France, Germany, America, Japan and Italy. This concert includes music from the baroque to the contemporary as well as Barbara’s thoughts and commentary on the selections. This is a wonderful and peaceful way to spend an afternoon or evening.

  The Golden Tone Orchestra Big Ban

Sunday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m.
 On June 11th The Long Beach Library will be transformed Into a concert hall from the Big Band Era. Your trip to that bygone era will be led by Vincent “Bobby” Ferrari the band leader who is 96 years young and played with many bands at that time along with the famous Vincent Lopez. Bobby plays the flute, clarinet, saxophone and will thrill you with his vocal renditions. Bobby is assisted by the 21 members of The Golden Tone Orchestra. Many of the members are in their eighties. The program is filled with songs from the past along with modern tunes. Prepare yourself for an afternoon of nostalgia. Sit back, close your eyes if you wish and enjoy the trip.
