Here at the Long Beach Public Library, we value all forms of narrative and storytelling. In the 21st century, video games have emerged
as a prominent form of storytelling enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Located in our Youth Services department, you can find our Nintendo Switch game collection. All our games are available for checkout, however, please note that games can only be checked out with an adult library card. Curated by our Nintendo librarian, Mr. Jake, we have an eclectic mix of games in multiple genres such as sports, role playing games, and platformers. Parents, please rest assured, all our games are rated E for everyone by the ESRB.

In addition to our collection of games, we have game-centric programming such as our monthly teen and jr. gamer programs. We recognize that playing games together is not only a way to meet new friends in the community, but a chance for kids and teens to work on socialization, compromise, sportsmanship, and cooperation.
